WHAT IS VOLCANO SCHOOL?
An educational project of the Volcano Active Foundation for children aims to educate and disseminate among young people how volcanoes affect climate and environmental change.
PROJECTS
The Volcano School program focuses its activity on education and dissemination of knowledge about the environment and volcanic ecosystems.
To this end, we have three local, national and international projects, with the idea of reaching as many children as possible by offering them basic knowledge about the environment and volcanology, which will provide them with a solid foundation and encourage them to continue learning and researching about volcanoes and their social and environmental surroundings.
PROJECT #1
I BRING YOU CLOSER TO MY VOLCANO
Local project (Barcelona) with which we will involve schools in the area of La Garrotxa for their students to be the “teachers” in front of students from other schools in more disadvantaged areas. The sense of the project goes beyond the simple discovery of a close and living natural environment such as volcanoes, through hiking. It seeks to connect students from different territories and realities, on the one hand, and also to work on the ability to transmit the knowledge acquired, on the other.
We want the children to share while learning in a fun way.
PROJECT #2
A VOLCANIC TRIP
The objective is to promote the interest in volcanoes among children in order to deepen their knowledge and to introduce them to basic environmental concepts…
PROJECT #3
INTERNATIONAL EXPLOSION
Through an international web platform we will connect schools in volcanic areas around the world, with the aim of creating a world map of volcanoes, as seen by the children of the areas where they live…

ABOUT US
Volcano Active Foundation arose in Spain in 2018 as a result of the passion, for the volcanic world and for the people who inhabit these areas, of its founder Anne Fornier.
Anne is linked to the world of volcanoes, since the foundation of “Pueblos y Volcanes”, an association based on the dissemination of eruptive risks, with more than 20 years of existence. She has 6 years of studies in volcanology and more than 20 years of field experience.
